In September we welcome 15 new volunteers to our team. This is a great group of diverse backgrounds including Nurses, a Security Officer, Reiki practitioner, Tattoo Artist, Realtor and Early Childhood Educator. We are so excited to have them complete their orientation dates and become integrated into our community.

Message from

Our Board Chair

Hello Everyone,

There isn’t too much to report from the Board this month. We are looking forward to re-convening in September and developing our work plan and setting priorities for the upcoming year. There continues to be a significant amount of planning at the Regional and Provincial levels developing the Ontario Health Teams. Of course, it will be interesting to see if the upcoming election has any impact on the current vision. Although, I find it all very interesting and agree with the basic principles, I have personally experienced similar efforts during my 45 years in Health Care that never come to fruition! Not to be skeptical of course. We have some exciting fund raising activities coming up in the near future. Looking forward to working with staff and volunteers on the Smile Cookie Campaign and enjoying dinner at the golf tournament.

Sincerely, Chris

Golf for Hospice We are happy to announce that Golf for Hospice is sold out. Thanks to all participants, sponsors and auction item donors.

3rd Party Fundraising events organized and held independently by third-party organizers are very welcome as they not only increase the public’s awareness of hospice palliative care, but are vital to financially supporting our programs and services. If you belong to or know of an organization/business that might host a fundraising event, Hospice Simcoe would be most grateful to be the charity recipient.

For more information contact Lynda or Josie (lynda@hospicesimcoe.ca josie@hopsicesimcoe.ca )
