The 1940s ushered in an artistic era inwhich one of the most famous — and mostcontroversial — painters of the 20th centu-ry reinvented himself as an artist.
The body of work created by eccentricSpanish painter Salvador Dalí during thelast 40 years of his life are a visual explo-ration of science, psychology and religionand the subject of the exhibition “Salvador
Dalí: The Late Work,” now on display atAtlanta’s High Museum of Art.
Comprised of more than 100 works —about 40 paintings and related drawingsand prints as well as film, sculptures andphotographs — it’s the first major exhibi-tion to re-evaluate the final era of Dalí’sartistic life.
