Give as you have prospered Putting others needs ahead of your own

Love your neighbor as yourself Love your enemy

TEACHINGS: 1 Thes. 5:16-18 – Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

Eph. 5:20 – always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Col. 3:17 – And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

BARRIERS TO GRATITUDE:

Pride – Self sufficiency Since of Entitlement Materialism – to focus on what we don’t have

Envy – perception others are more blessed Impatience Busyness Failure to realize it’s all God’s to begin with

CONSIDER GOD’S SERVANT… JOB

Job 1:20-21 - At this, Job got up and tore his robe and shaved his head. Then he fell to the ground in worship and said:

“Naked I came from my mother’s womb and naked I will depart.The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away; may the name of the LORD be praised.”

GROWING OUR GRATITUDE

Worship: The only thing we can give God that he didn’t first give us.

Prayer: Col. 4:2 – Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.

Count your many blessings.Show appreciation even for small gestures.

Refrain from complaining, criticism, and gossip.

Look for the positives in all situations.

GRATITUDE & THANKFULNESS IS A

GREAT INDICATOR OF OUR SPIRITUAL HEALTH

built up in Him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and

overflowing with thankfulness.
