Introduce Graduation: A Team Effort (GATE)…Washington’s collective impact graduation initiative.

Strengthen the professional network working on dropout issues in Washington State.

A resource for peer sharing of effective strategies, programs, models, and partnerships that engage students, support academic and social/emotional needs, and create educational momentum for secondary and post-secondary success.

Technical AssistanceWorkgroup Tasks

1. Collect and organize research and/or results supporting comprehensive dropout prevention, intervention, and retrieval (dpir) models and strategies.

2. Develop an OSPI based website (linked to partner websites) to host effective dropout program information for use by pre-K-12 education staff and other stakeholders.

3. Consult with other GATE workgroups to develop a school self-audit process/tool for use in identifying and analyzing dropout programming needs, as well as matching cross-system efforts to research-supported dpir strategies/programs.

4. Collaborate with other GATE workgroups and allied agency partners to design and implement a professional development model, including outreach and support to work with all districts/schools and communities in addressing local dropout prevention, intervention, and retrieval efforts.
