Life Cycle of the Frog

Life Cycle of a Frog

There are several stages in the life cycle of the frog.

The cycle continues over and over again.

EggsThe egg is the first stage in the frog’s life cycle.

These frog eggs were laid in the water.

Tadpoles!!!

The second stage in the frog’s life cycle is the tadpole.

Tadpoles use their tails to help them swim.

More Tadpoles…Here is a video of tadpoles swimming.

If you look real close you can see their legs starting to form.

Legs Start to Grow

In the third stage the tadpole starts to grow legs and arms.

Now it looks like a little frog with a long tail.

Froglets

In the froglet stage the tail is only a little stump. The froglet can now live on land and is almost fully grown.

Adult Frog

The last stage of the frog’s life cycle is the adult frog.

By now the tail is completely gone and the adult frog can lay eggs to start the cycle all over again!
