The arc rating of this material is intended for use as flame resistant clothing for workers exposed toelectric arcs. The material used in this test method are in the form of flat specimens, actual performanceof the complete garment may vary depending on the final design and assembly of the garment. Thistest method does not apply to the electrical contact or electrical shock hazard.The Arc Rating was calculated using the test data obtained and given in the attached table. Usinglogistic regression technique, the ATPV, defined as the 50% probability of burn, was determined inaccordance with ASTM F1959M-04. The average Heat Attenuation Factor (HAF) of the material iscalculated by averaging the HAF of each test sample. It is defined as the percent of the incident energythat is blocked by the material.
