INTRODUCTION
Information system (IS) units to providesupplementary services to end-users
Diffusion of client-server architectures The idea of delivering high quality IS
services and the costs associated withdelivering such services are debatable

LITERATURE REVIEW
IS effectiveness is a construct comprising. IS effectiveness is fairly complex.
Many researchers gives key ingredients indeveloping a competitive advantage.(system quality, information quality andsystems success)
IS effectiveness is limited to the financialindices measurement

SYSTEM QUALITY
Mainly focused on performancecharacteristics of the system.
Resource utilization and investmentutilization. Ease of access, ease of use, friendly
working environment and latesttechnology.

USER SATISFACTION
There is no clear relationship establishedbetween system effectiveness and user
satisfaction.
User satisfaction measures the netbenefits perceived by the ISsstakeholders.

SYSTEM USE
The use of computer systemcharacteristics should match with user
task needs. Nature of system use could be addressed
by determining whether the fullfunctionality of a system is being used forthe intended purposes.

Spending more time on systems doesnt
gives any relationship between usage and
the realization of expected results. Task-technology fit (TTF) which suggests
that better outcomes(i.e. performance) willresult when there is a match between thetask and the technology (ease ofdetermining what data is available andwhere)

METHODOLOGY
The following proposition is advanced forinvestigation:
P1. The integrated human resourcesystem in the NIOC is an effective system. Examine this proposition by means of
three other hypotheses: H1. Users are satisfied by the system
quality. H2. Users are satisfied by the information
quality of system.4/22/12 1616Tolani Institute of ManagementStudies

RELIABILITY AND VALIDIT
In order to estimate reliability, they sentquestionnaire to 35 users of system.
Cronbachs alpha for the sample was 0.92which indicate an excellent level ofstatistical internal consistency.
For validity 20 personal interviews were
conducted with managers and experts.Their suggestions were collected and
some improvements were made.4/22/12 1818Tolani Institute of Management

CONCLUSION
MIS effectiveness can be evaluated bymeans of measuring user satisfaction with
information quality, system quality andsystem use. The selection of IS effectiveness
dimensions and measures should becontingent on the objectives.
Although the three variables are correlatedbut they are not sufficiently strong to
warrant their use as substitutes for one4/22/12 1919Tolani Institute ofManagement Studies

MANAGERIALIMPLICATIONS
Findings show that managers shouldconsider changes, upgrades or new
systems need to take into account howthose will fit with the present system.
MIS is having strategic importance so ithelps in making decision.
Increase the value of their products andservices.
