Euro WalkaboutMay 2010

These are just a selection of some new store openings and concepts that we have seen & liked on our various trips within Europe.

The Marmite ‘Pop-Up’ shop in particular has attracted a lot of interest - so maybe it might end up becoming a permanent fixture (no puns intended) on the retail landscape.

AnthropologieRegent Street, London

• It’s edgy yet grown up• Excels with its visual merchandising• Primarily aimed at women in their 30s• First retailer to have its own ‘living wall’

- a 200m high vertical climbing garden!

CamperRegent Street, London

• A small space but packed with personality• Product is the star of the show• Humour as always is a key ingredient in the

store design

Daylesford OrganicDaylesford, Gloucs.

• A beautifully executed concept• Oozes rustic elegance• Aimed at the metropolitan ‘country set’

HMV Shop in a BoxVarious Locations, UK

• Being trialled at trains stations & Vue cinemas in the UK

• Basically an HMV-branded vending machine but has the potential to be developed into a more interactable experience

Lomography Gallery storeNewburgh Street, London

• A very tactile approach to merchandising• Not just a store, it hosts workshops and events• A real ‘community’ retailer & meeting place

Marmite Pop-Up ShopPiccadilly, London

• Famous for being either loved or hated - no sitting on the fence with this brand!

• The wide range of merchandise is testament to the power of this

StarbucksConduit Street, London

• New concept - more eclectic, relaxed & local• Aim is to inspire the look & feel of new stores in

the UK

T-MobileBerlin

• Distressed look & feel to the store design• A much more grungy than corporate approach• More of a meeting space than a traditional

retail space
