This weeks number one goal comes
from the man with the best looking
girlfriend in the Premiership. Peter
Crouch’s volley from outside the box
maybe an early contender for goal of
the season.
Liverpools Uraguian defender opened
his account for the club with a pretty
awesome volley. Too bad he couldn’t
do his job and defend against QPR’s
eventual winning performance.
Yes, I thought this Montenegrin
striker still played for Roma, but
appaarently he now plays for good
old Juve’. His magnificent 35 yard
strike booked his side a cup final
place.
Mikel Arteta’s thunderous free kick
at the Emirates contributed to his
sides 3 - 0 win.
A man of the match performance
against the Baggies contributed to
one of the best first half perfomances
of the season. Two assits and a goal
is a good return from the highly rated
Frenchman

Pray for Muamba
Tebow &Sanchez
After Peyton Manning’s move to the Denver Bronco’s, it
was only a matter of time before Tim Tebow would be
on the move. That move was to the New York Jets where
he will now compete with starting Quarterback Mark
Sanchez.
A little of a strange view in the mind of many people, as
Sanchez is an extremely useful QB and done well with
the jets over the past few seasons. Is it a commercial move
that the Jets have taken in adding to the roster the player
that caught the imagination of the public last season,
who knows? One thing I do know is I’ll be watching to
find out.
Catch up on all the latest NFL action on ESPN America
If you don’t know about the recent events surrounding
Fabrice Muamba, then get out from under your rock and
show your support. The Bolton Midfielder was struck
down with a Cardiac Arrest on the pitch during their FA
cup tie with spurs last weekend.
Over the past week, anyone who’s anyone has showed
their support for the former England U-21 International.
A massive twitter movement has showed the mass support
from the public and proved the good that football can
achieve when people come together.
The last few days have been a critical time for Muamba,
although he has shown massive signs of improvement.
Keep showing your support!

Messi tops barca tally
Tiger earns his strips
Tiger Woods has been the butt end of a lot of jokes since
his little hiccup in his personal life. Although this past
weekend, the 14 time major winner achieved his first
PGA tour win in almost 2 and a half years.
This win raises him to number 6 in the world and
solidifies the fact that he is back on the prowl. Funnily
enough, this comes 2 weeks before the Masters, a
tournament where he has already won 4 times.
The question is, can tiger break the golden bears tally of
18 major titles?
More Information at www.espn.co.uk
This week, boy wonder Lionel Messi broke Barcelona’s
all time goal scoring record with a goal against Granada.
The little Argentine has scored 235 goals in 315
appearances for Barca’, which is pretty epic. Probably the
most extraordinary thing is the fact that he is only 24
years of age.
To think that he may not have even reached his peak yet
is a little bit of a kick in the balls to all us normal folk.
Is he already the best footballer of all time? This may
only be decided by his performances on the international
stage.

new team gb kit
The official sportswear partner unveiled the the ground-
breaking kit which combines the best in performance
technologies with stand-out British design, which will
be worn by athletes in both the Olympic and Paralympic
games this Summer.
Acclaimed British designer and creative director for this
project, Stella McCartney, has in two years created a kit
which uses a reconstructed representation of the iconic
Union Jack, making for a contemporary take on patriotic
sportswear. How do you feel about the kit, worth the
hype?

Fernando Alonso achieved a major win this weekend at
the Malaysian Grand Prix by coming from 8th on the
grid to take the title.
A massive surprise to even Alonso himself as he’s stated
many times that the Ferrai isn’t where it should be. The
rain soaked event may have been an aid in Alonso’s win,
but never the less, the Spaniard now leads the drivers
championship and shoots himself into title contention.
Will this year be one of the most competitive F1 seasons
with no clear front runner as of yet?

Is Tevez truly sorry?
“I am excited to have him back because I have always thought that Carlos is a top player — even when we had a problem” Roberto Mancini
This past week has seen the return of Manchester City’s want away strike Carlos Tevez. The former Hammer’s and United striker has been absent from the club for almost six months, since his refusal to come off the bench during City’s Champions League loss last September.
The player states many different reasons for his self imposed exile and almost moved to one of the Milan clubs during the winter. Obviously the stresses of golf have become to much for him and he felt it would be better to return to sunny Manchester.
Is Tevez really sorry? Or is he just topping up his bank balance and hoping for a big money move in the summer?

Papiss Demba Cisse
The Senegalese striker has been nothing short of a goal machine since his 9 million move to Newcastle during the January transfer window. He also had a pretty impressive performance at the Hawthorns where an inaugural Premier League hatrick was only stopped by an outstanding Ben Foster save.
Anyway, the reason he’s been put up for trial is due to the fact that he believes his team mate (Ben Arfa) is like Messi. Not only this, he also believes he will help him achieve his dream of playing in the Champions League.
Theres two big statements there and neither are in conjunction with reality. The lad scores a goal and sets up a couple and you can start to compare him with someone a little more at that level. Not Barcelona’s highest ever goal scorer.
Not only this, he was also stretchered off with cramp at the weekend, man up Papiss.
“Sometimes with the ball at his feet, he is like Lionel Messi” Papiss Demba Cisse

Jesse Owens
200m, Long Jump and 100m relay race.
Owens took gold medals in each event and doing this most probably rubbed Hitler the wrong way. Due to this he avoided to shake hands with any other medal winners not of German nationality.
“Hitler had a certain time to come to the stadium and a certain time to leave”. “It happened he had to leave before the victory ceremony after the 100 meters. But before he left I was on my way to a broadcast and passed near his box. He waved at me and I waved back. I think it was ‘bad taste’ to criticize the man of the hour in another country”
Athletes didn’t return from the Olympics to lucrative advertising and product endorsement campaigns in those days, and Owens supported his young family with a variety of jobs. One was of special significance - playground director in Cleveland. It was his first step into a lifetime of working with underprivileged youth, which gave him his greatest satisfaction. After relocating to Chicago, he devoted much of his time to underprivileged youth as a board member and former director of the Chicago Boys’ Club.
Jesse Owens died from complications due to lung cancer on March 31, 1980 in Tucson, Arizona. Although words of sorrow, sympathy and admiration poured in from all over the world, perhaps President Carter said it best when he stated: “Perhaps no athlete better symbolized the human struggle against tyranny, poverty and racial bigotry. His personal triumphs as a world-class athlete and record holder were the prelude to a career devoted to helping others. His work with young athletes, as an unofficial ambassador overseas, and a spokesman for freedom are a rich legacy to his fellow Americans.”
