TIER 2 (GENERAL) SKILLED WORKER
You will need to secure a graduate level job offer before your Tier 4 student visa expires
Your employer will need to have a sponsor licence
Job must be at right skill level i.e. PhD or NQF 6 or shortage job
Certificate of Sponsorship
Minimum annual salary of £20,500 (or higher)

SPECIAL ARRANGEMENTS FOR STUDENTS SWITCHING FROM TIER 4 TO TIER 2
No Resident Labour Market Test (RLMT)
Unrestricted Certificate of Sponsorship
Must have successfully completed Bachelors or Masters course or one year of PhD to qualify
TIER 5 (TEMPORARY WORKER)
Allows graduates to undertake specific types of work in the UK for a period of one year or for two years, depending on the scheme
Tier 5 Government Authorised Exchange visa allows individuals to remain in UK for purposes of professional training or work experience e.g. AIESEC GO Global programme, BUNAC Intern in Britain, International Student Internship Scheme (ISIS) for Chinese graduates
Certificate of sponsorship. Check UKBA for list of approved sponsors
Maintenance (£900 available; £945 from 1 July)
TIER 4 DOCTORATE EXTENSION SCHEME
Aimed at students who can apply within 6 weeks prior to end of PhD degree
Provides them with a further 12 months Tier 4 leave to look for and start work in the UK
Can work almost without restriction once received confirmation of PhD award
Can only apply once under this scheme
At the end of the scheme, must apply for other visas e.g. Tier 1, Tier 2 General if you want to remain in UK
TIER 1 (GRADUATE ENTREPRENEUR)
Aimed at graduates with credible business idea
Letter of endorsement by University or UKTI
Gained UK Bachelors, Masters or PhD before endorsement
English Language
Maintenance (£900 available; £945 from 1 July)
