Ourstudyclearlyfindsdigitaltechnologiestobeacentralelementofundergraduateeducationandassociatedwithsubstantialchangestothewaysinwhichstudentsexperiencetheirstudies.However,ouranalysisalsosuggeststhatdigitaltechnologiesareclearlynot‘transforming’thenatureofuniversityteachingandlearning,orevensubstantiallydisruptingthe‘studentexperience’.

Thisthenraisestheoverarchingquestionofwhat– ifanything– needstobe‘done’.Universitystudentsarecertainlyfindingandmakinggoodusesofdigitaltechnologiesthat‘workbest’forthemwithinthecontextoftheirundergraduatestudies.However,theseusesandpracticesarenotthemostexpansive,expressive,empowering,enlighteningorevenexcitingwaysthatdigitaltechnologiescouldbeused.D
