RESIDENT BIRTHDAYS
What a busy birthday month May has been! Happy birthday wishes were extended to Florris Mewett (7th May), Evelyn Cornell (9th May), Una Peters (12th May), Cleve Krause (17th May) and Gwen Barker (18th May). We hope you all enjoyed your special day and wish you well for the days to come!
BIGGEST MORNING TEA
This year Dunmunkle Lodge hosted the Cancer Council’s Biggest Morning Tea in conjunction with the Minyip Country Women’s Association. The fundraising event was held on Wednesday 22nd May in The Lodge Sunroom and proved a huge success with a grand total of $388.80 being raised on the day. We would like to thank the ladies from the CWA for helping organise and cater – there were many complimentary comments about how delicious the cakes, slices and other treats on offer were, so thank you very much for your time and effort. Special mention also goes out to the residents, family, friends, staff, and members of the community who came along and showed their support. Pictured below from left to right are Lorraine Krause, Bev Peart, Brenda Kerrins, Rosalie Landwehr; Olwen Cowan, Marie Tobin and Pat Combs. More photos follow overleaf…
BIGGEST MORNING TEA
RE It was wonderful to see so many in attendance enjoying each other’s company. Good company, good

BIGGEST MORNING TEA
So many great photos from the day, we just had to share them all! Below left are Judy Lloyd,
Gerry Scharman and Anne Hicks. To the right Stuart White and Elaine Liersch collect donations, sell
fundraising merchandise and raffle tickets. Well done everyone… a great team effort all round!
INTERNATIONAL DAY
Above from left to right are Jessica Decker; Ailsa Padley, Pauline Harper, Gwen Barker, Ellen Niewand,
Muriel Foster and Joan Brady; and Ruth Neylan with her daughter Kerry. We hope everyone had a lovely
time and we look forward to doing it all again in 2020.
On the 17th of May an ‘International Day’ with a Mexican theme was held. The kitchen staff did a
wonderful job yet again, serving delicious deconstructed tacos for the main, followed by a refreshing
lemon, lime and coconut pudding for dessert. The dining room decorations added to the atmosphere.
Pauline Harper is pictured below (right) getting into the spirit of things wearing a traditional sombrero.

We love celebrating special occasions here at The Lodge, and who better to celebrate than those near
and dear to our hearts - our beloved mums?! Above Ellen Niewand helps make beautiful decorations;
the menu board (showing lots of love and appreciation); and Emma Cameron dishing up on the day.
