Deaf/Hearing Families
The reason we develop two groups is because we had feedback from Deaf parents who their kids are at school or working parents and they can’t be involved in the ‘Little ones’ on Tuesdays. Kidzone will be happening at weekends and at holiday terms – suit children of all ages. There are lots of Signing families living in Derby/Derbyshire… it is great to bring everyone together! It is yours not ours! We would appreciate your ideas/feedback. Talk face to face or email Helen Phillips – p h i l l i p s . h j @ g m a i l . c o m
New Prices Thanks to Central
Nursery funding, we
can offer you FREE
crèche & snacks now!
So new entry price per parent is £1
now starting in Jan 2009. This helps us
to raise money for holiday trips with
little ones—like reduced prices for
zoo or help with coach hire cost. 1st
time visit to Central Nursery by new
parents or support workers / carers
with Deaf parents will go FREE.
20 little kids turned up at Xmas party
at Central Nursery on Tues 16th Dec -
it was good fun! Kids loved seeing
Deaf Santa arriving at the gates on his
motorbike with sidecar full of pre-
sents—their mouths dropped open
for 2 mins!!
BIG thanks to Kieron Lehrle for
agreeing to be Deaf Santa (he
donated the hire of his Santa
costume) & Helen Barker for her hard
work organising party & wrapping
loads of ace presents.
Santa’s
Grotto
We had an amazing afternoon
meeting Santa with interpreter for
1st time in our life at Westfield.
Many thanks to Grace and
Westfield for booking Sarah
Gatford-Ball & offering us reduced
prices! Sarah looked great in red
gown. Little ones had a lovely time
with photo, choc lolly, balloon &
present! Definitely do it again next
Christmas maybe with school
children for Kidzone.
Mummies & Daddies Xmas Meal We had a brilliant night
out at Michael Lee -
Chinese restaurant.
Food was lovely &
cheaper than we
thought - only £9.90 for
set menu! Staff was very
friendly & happy to let us to stay
late - you know Deaf like to talk
late & never move!
Thanks to Janna for choosing a
brill restaurant & organizing
everything!
