this class of pistol is needed. The sights are, as onemight expect, non-adjustable, but are very clearand line up quickly.
It goes without saying that a steel .380 of thissize and weight isnot going to betons of fun toshoot. Like theSeecamp and theNAA .380s, theMicro Desert Eaglehas a snappyrecoil. But thenagain, it is a toolfor situations inwhich recoil willprobably be thelast thing youwould notice.
Disassemblingthe Micro forcleaning was, forme, a trip downMemory Lane. I’veowned a bunch of older Browning pocket pistolswhere disassembly involved pulling the slide backa bit, then turning the barrel 180 degrees, and let-ting the slide go forward and off. Same here. Simi-
larly, the two recoil springs, positioned on eitherside of the frame, reminded me of the old WaltherP-38. Neither assembly nor reassembly is particu-larly challenging, although the two pages in the
manual that dealwith fieldstrippingand assembly arenot a model ofclarity.
The MicroDesert Eaglecomes in a verysturdy, lockablehard case, com-plete with theobligatory cablelock, a cleaningrod and cleaningbrush and a $10discount on anNRA membership. This is one solid, beautifully craftedgun, finished in
Teflon nickel. Suggested retail price is $535.Magnum Research • 7110 University Ave., N.E.• Minneapolis, MN 55432 • 1-800-772-6168 •
