memory of something,

event, person or an object.

Snapshot vs. Photograph

Photograph isan artisticinterpretationof an eventor person or object.

Composition Depends on:

Structure

Balance

Dynamic

Structurestructural elementsPosition Line Shape

non-structural elements Light Texture Perspective Motion

the Nine-Grid Zone -Theorem of thirds.

-Each zone needs to produce a different effect in order to be doing its Job.

-Most of the zones may be exactly the same with one or two different zone. (ex)

-Weighing a photograph

the Nine-Grid ZoneSome effects we can

achieve by positioning

weighing toward the bottom

Line and ShapeLine and Shape are the building blocks of the photograph.

Control them and Don’t allow them to control you.

They can help You a lot to control the eye of the viewer when exploring your photograph.

Line

We have 3 types of lines:

Horizontal Vertical Diagonal

HOriZontal line

Makes you feel relax

Ex: the distant horizon.

A Question:Why do you think he had put the line on the upper line zone and

didn’t used the lower?

VertiCal line

Makes you feel the power of Height

Specially when the photo is in the portrait format

)ex (a building, a tree, a person.

DiaGonal line

The strongest type,Use it to guide your viewers eye to your main subject

Also, imagine it makes the flat 2D plane of a photograph into a 3D sense

ShapeThe shape affect the

photograph by two ways :where it is +vewhere it isn't –ve

Composition takes care to make the –ve space interesting

ShapeWhat is the negative space?

The area between the borders of the shape and the borders of the framesThe closer these borders to each others the more interesting the negative space will be

Balance

BalanceBalance is an equal relationship between two things or more.

A photograph is balanced when various elements weigh the same

That don’t mean they should take the same amount.

Balance

DynamicDynamic is the movement of a viewer's eye as it explores a photograph.

DynamicIdeal dynamic,

1-Move begin with the most important subject (primary subject)2-Proceeds to less Important ones (secondary subjects)

3-Makes a full circle back to the primary subject again

DynamicIn a poorly composed photographThe eye of the viewer may stuck to one of the secondary objects

DynamicHow can we do to control dynamic

-Try to arrange your subjects in the frame

-Try to make your mainSubject big

-Try to make it near-Try to make your main

different (ex)

by light intensityby colors

-Use lines to guid the viewer

DynamicUsing lines in dynamicIn this case the diagonal helps a lotLook at the photograph don’t you feel these diagonal lines leading your eye to this train
