What are Karst-Poljes ...

Karst is a three-dimensional landscape shaped by dissolution of soluble layers of bedrock, mostly limestone.

Display distinctive surface features and underground drainages, there may be little or no surface drainage

... What are Karst-Poljes

Karst-Polje (polje = field) is a large flat plain in karst territory

Some poljes of the Dinaric Alps are inundated during rainy winter and spring seasons and the water disappears through shafts into the underground
