Cossack officer Serge Jaroff foundedthe Don Cossack Choir Serge Jaroffthe Don Cossack Choir Serge Jaroffnear Istanbul in 1921. Led by Jaroff,the choir took part in church services,and starting in 1923 the Cossacks alsogave concerts. Over the years the choirachieved an almost legendary status.
