•SHOW THEM THAT YOU ARE TRYING TO IMPROVE

IF YOU HAD TO WORK ON A SPECIAL HOLIDAY LIKE CHRISTIMAS OR EASTER

•YOU ARE ONLY ENTITLED TO DOUBLE PAY IF:

•YOU HAVE BEEN EMPLOYED BY THE COMPANY FOR AT LEAST 30 DAYS PRIOR TO A STATUTORY HOLIDAY

•YOU HAVE WORKED 15 CONSECUTIVE DAYS FOR THE COMPANY PRIOR TO A STATUTORY HOLIDAY

•IF YOU ARE FIRED ON THE SPOT, YOU MAY BE ENTITLED TO 2 WEEKS OF PAY (THIS COMPENSATES YOU FOR THE 2 WEEKS NOTICE)

There will be a 2-3 week delay between when you start and when you are paid.

Usually companies have ‘pay periods’. For example, from May 1st to May 15th. That is one pay period.

Once that pay period is over, the company sends the numbers to an accounting firm.

They process payment ,and cheques for May 1st to May 15th are issued on May 21st.

You may need to submit invoices and timesheets – Make sure you verify this on your first day of work.
