Camera MovementThe way the camera physically moves through the space

of the film.

DollyThe camera is mounted on a cart which travels along tracks for a very smooth movement. Usually moves towards the subject of the shot.

TrackJust like a dolly shot, but the camera moves side-to-side rather than towards the subject of the shot.

PanHorizontal movement, left and right; camera base remains fixed.

TiltVertical movement of the camera angle, i.e. pointing the camera up and down (as opposed to moving the whole camera up and down).

ReframeThe slight movement (up, down, left, right) of the camera to keep the object of the shot in the frame

Why include camera movement? What effect does camera

movement have on the audience?
