Being bullied can seriously affect a child’s physical and mental health. These affects can include:

o Feelings of sadness and lonelinesso Lack of confidence o Depressiono Physical complaints o School avoidance

What can be done to help?Parents, teachers and other adult/ professionals can offer help in a variety of ways.

o Be open to the possibility that the child may be a victim of bullying.

o Listen to the child and take them seriously.

o Avoid blaming the child for the action of others.
