By April 2023, states and jurisdictions will decrease bullying victimization by 2% from the November 2018 baseline for children and adolescents ages 6 through 19, through the implementation and spread of evidence-based bullying prevention strategies and programs.

Setting Goals for Your Strategies

• SPECIFIC! Include a clear and well-defined SYSTEM (organization) and POPULATION (who exactly?)

• MEASURABLE! Includes QUANTITATIVE GOALS (how much?)

• ACTIONABLE! Within your sphere of influence

• REALISTIC! (but ambitious) It is aligned with your organization’s priorities and you have the time and resources

• TIME-BOUND! Includes a TIME FRAME by when results will be achieved (by when?)

SMART Goal Example

By March 2019, 50% more public schools

will be implementing Olweus Bullying

Prevention Program. Currently, 200

primary and middle schools are

implementing the Program. We aim to

reach 300 schools across Dade,

Montgomery, and Oak County.
