Phrasal verbs are usually two-word phrases consisting of verb + adverb or verb + preposition. Think of them as you would any

other English vocabulary. 

ASK AROUND

Its meaning is :

// Ask many people the same question //

Example:

I asked around but nobody has seen my wallet.

BREAK DOWN

Its meaning is :

// Stop functioning a vehicle or machine//

Example:

Your car broke down at the side of the highway in the snowstorm..

CALL someone BACK

Its meaning is :

// Return a phone call//

Example:

I called the company back but the offices were closed for the weekend..

CALM DOWN

Its meaning is :

// Relaxe after being angry//

Example:

You need to calm down before you drive the car..

CHEER UPIts meaning is :

// Become happier//

Example:

She cheered up when she heard the good news.

EAT OUT

Its meaning is :

// Eat at a restaurant //

Example:

I don't feel like cooking tonight. Let's eat out.

FIND OUT

Its meaning is :

Example:

We don't know where he lives. How can we find out?

GET BACK

Its meaning is :
