Farm is a 99-megawatt facil-ity outside Payne. This is the firstcommercial, large-scale project toopen in Ohio with implicationsfor a changing business climate inOhio.
The fuel itself is free wind and no other fuel can say that,Alonso continued. We see a bigbenefit for landowners who willbe getting millions of dollars inrevenue. It will raise millions forlocal communities. We are veryproud. The one thing you cannotdiscount is that we are right on theborder of Ohio. Three miles away(in Indiana), the wind resourcesare the same. But why we chose
(Ohio) has to do with policy; thealternative energy standard and theright incentive for utilities to buy
wind or solar energy. This is verygood for us but very beneficial forconsumers and AEP Ohio becausethey are getting fixed prices for 20years. Policy matters; it was criti-cal for us to get this project done.
Coupled with changes in Ohiothat make investing hundreds ofmillions of dollars worthwhile,EDP is also looking to the futurewith ground-breaking technolo-gies.
We are installing the latesttechnologies, the Vesta 100, andon days like today, we are produc-ing about (14) megawatts, Alonsosaid. This is why wind is viable in

I never met him, but I knew him.I never talked to him, but he spoke to me
often.I never saw him present live, but my vi-
sion of him is burned into my brain.Steve Jobs has left the earth, but his leg-
acy and remains are among each of us, andwill be touched every day for decades.
When I learned of his death, I was so sad-dened I couldnt write. I just sat there in dis-belief, realizing that the life of the businesshero I followed would no longer be alive toannounce the next amazing technologicalproduct.
After a few hours, I posted this on all ofmy social media outlets:
Steve Jobs has passed away, but his leg-acy will live longer than any of us. I am sadthat my business hero has gone to his finalreward, and forever grateful for what he hasdone to my world, both in business and inlife. Thank you Steve for a Jobs well done.
The laptop, the iPod, the iPhone, and theiPad were created and improved beyond theimagination or the capability of 1,000 of hispeers. The great Bill Gates tried and failed
many times to top Apple products. Sohave every one of his competitors.
And Jobs did all of this with quiet dig-nity, genius, eloquence, and simplicity.
If you own an Apple product, any Appleproduct, theres one thing you dont need
an instruction manual. I havebeen using everything Macand everything Apple since1984 and I have NEVER readone word of how-to instruc-tion. Part of Jobs design ge-nius was to make every prod-uct intuitive.
One man reinvented thecomputer, the operating sys-tem, the music player, andthe cell phone (now called asmartphone), and created atablet to fill a market spacethat no one even knew wasvoid the iPad. The iPad2is changing the face of bookpublishing, and book distribu-tion, the same way the iPodchanged music and music dis-tribution.
Amazing? No genius.
Once Steve Jobs hit his stride, he onlylooked, and leaped, forward. He turned ideainto vision, vision into reality, and realityinto billions. Apple retail stores have linesaround the corner for new product launches.On an average day, its hard to see the floorbecause the stores are so crowded. More ge-nius? Every employee in the store is a cash
register!Not bad for a college
dropout.
I,likemillions ofothers,admired him as a person ofcourage. I,likemillions ofothers,
are more than sad hes gone. I,likemillions ofothers,have been impacted by hisproducts. I,likemillions ofothers,are more than grateful for hiscontributions.
Death has always had achallenging effect on me.My candle flame that burnsseems brighter and hotterwith the death of Jobs. I have
a greater sense of urgency, and a reneweddrive to achieve more in a shorter time.
Watching tributes tonight, I saw his Stan-ford University graduation address that wasdelivered in 2005 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D1R-jKKp3NA). Its a typi-cal Jobs message of humor, brilliance, sim-plicity, and riveting truth.
Steve Jobs did not just leave a legacy,he also left a lesson. Do what you love andbelieve will make a difference. And do it
full force, in the face of naysayers and ob-stacles.
What are you thinking about?What is your vision?What are you working on?How are you turning your hard work into
your reality?And when youre done, who will it im-
pact for a lifetime?Steve jobs blazed a trail of amazing ac-
complishment. His legacy of innovation andachievement is more than one person couldimagine. He parallels Edison as a pioneer.One or more of his marks are most likely inyour home.
I humbly thank him, wish him a peace-ful journey, and hope his family will revelin the memory of a great thinker, a greatleader, a great marketer, a great family man,and a great person.

At the September Foundation Boardmeeting, Dick Falkner, Foundation chair,presented Edith Wissman with a plaque forher service on the JTD Hospital FoundationBoard from July of 1999 to July of 2011.
Karen Ryals, Executive Director stated,As a long time board member, I thank Edithfor her tireless leadership and commitmentduring a period of significant growth andsuccess for the Hospital. Edith is to be com-mended for her service and dedication to
Joint Township District Memorial Hospitaland the Foundation for the past 12 years.During her tenure, she served as Founda-
tion board chair, chair of the Annual Fund,and on other fundraising committees. Mostrecently, she has represented the Auxiliaryon the Foundation board.
Edith will continue to serve as co-presi-dent for the JTDMH Auxiliary. Edith beganworking with the Auxiliary before the hos-pital opened in 1953. She said I rememberthe days when we pushed carts around thehospital filled with candy, gum, and maga-
zines to sell. From fundraising efforts,since 1991 when the Foundation began,the Auxiliary is credited with contributingover $700,000 to benefit patient care at JT-DMH.
Dick Falkner stated, Edith will continueto support the Hospital even though she isnot on the Foundation Board with her finan-
cial support, her role as a volunteer and co-president of the Auxiliary. Her dedication isunmatched.
Edith explained, It was a family com-passion to support the Hospital. My father,Lester Blanke, was one of the original Hos-pital trustees. Edith recalls the conversationwith her father when she took him to the
hospital for the last time. He said, Edith, Iwant you to do two things: take care of yourmother and support the hospital.

The EDP Timber Road II project is just the
first step in the program laid out for Ohio. The$175-million-dollar project has contracted withmore than 100 local landowners to power morethan 27,000 homes. The project will utilize Vesta100 1.8 megawatt wind turbines with more than 60percent of the products manufactured in the UnitedStates.
