THE DEPARTMENT IS INSTRUMENTAL IN CONDUCTING VARIOUS
TECHNICAL AND NON-TECHNICAL ACTIVITIES FOR STUDENTS AS WELL AS
FACULTY MEMBERS. REGULAR CLASSES OF LATEST TECHNOLOGIES ARE
BEING CONDUCTED FOR STUDENTS. ON A CONTINUOUS BASIS, STUDENTS
ARE MADE AWARE ABOUT THE LATEST INDUSTRY TRENDS AND NEEDS IN
VARIOUS TECHNOLOGICAL DOMAINS. WELL-MOTIVATED FACULTY
MEMBERS ARE ALWAYS ENGAGED IN STUDENT’S WELFARE. ENCOURAGEMENT AND GUIDANCE IS OFFERED TO THE STUDENTS FOR
PARTICIPATING IN SPORTS AND VARIOUS EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
TO HIGHLIGHT AND STRENGTHEN THEIR NON-TECHNICAL SKILLS. AS AN
OUTCOME, DEPARTMENT HAS PRODUCED SEVERAL UNIVERSITY RANKERS
TILL DATE. AS A RESULT, IT DEPARTMENT OF VIIT IS RANKED AMONGST
TOP FIVE IT DEPARTMENTS OF ENGINEERING COLLEGES UNDER SPPU.

INFORMATION TECHNOCRAT STUDENTS FORUM (ITSF) PROVIDES THE
PLATFORM FOR THE ALL-ROUND DEVELOPMENT AS WELL AS GROOMING
THE IT STUDENTS IN ALL RESPECTS. TECHNICAL EVENTS ORGANIZED BY
ITSF AS WELL AS CSI CHAPTER, VIIT GIVE MORE EMPHASIS ON
EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING AND HANDS ON EXPERIENCE. THIS FORUM NOT
ONLY FOCUSES TECHNICAL AREAS BUT EQUALLY SUPPORTS EXTRA -CURRICULAR, SOCIAL, ENVIRONMENTAL, CULTURAL AREAS. I FEEL THIS
IS THE RIGHT TIME & PLACE FOR DEVELOPMENT OF STUDENT’S
PERSONALITY. STUDENTS CAN COME FORWARD, GRAB THE OPPORTUNITY
AND CAN PROVE THEMSELVES.
MS KARA PRIYANKA ITSF
PRESIDENT.
INFORMATION TECHNOCRAT STUDENTS FORUM (ITSF) GAVE ME VERY
GREAT OPPORTUNITY. THE EXPERIENCE OF BEING PRESIDENT WAS VERY
NICE. I HAD RESPONSIBILITY FOR ALL THE EVENTS HELD UNDER THE ITSF. THE ITSF DON’T ONLY RESTRICT TO SEMINAR’S AND WORKSHOPS, BUT IT
ALSO INCLUDED INTER-DEPARTMENTAL AND INTRA DEPARTMENT
LEVELS. APART FROM TECHNICAL STUFFS, THIS FORUM SUPPORTED VERY
GOOD IN EXTRA-CURRICULAR, SOCIAL, ENVIRONMENTAL AND CULTURAL
AREAS. WORKING WITH THE TEAM OF 16 STUDENTS FOR ALL THE
STUDENTS OF THE DEPARTMENT IMPROVED BY LEADERSHIP AND
MANAGEMENT SKILLS. THE EVENTS LIKE PLACEMENT PAATHSHAALA, TECHNORITHM AND CLEAN DEPARTMENT DRIVE WERE A HUGE SUCCESS.

Field visit to Hiware bazaar and Ralegan siddhi The field visit to Hiware Bazaar and Ralegan Siddhi was a part of BE-IT curriculum of
the subject Rural Technologies and Community Development. We were required to go
through the developments in the model villages regarding watershed management,
electricity and other basic necessities like education and health management.
We, a group of 20 students and 2 teachers, left for Hiware Bazaar at 8:30 A.M. On the
way we made a stop at a local eating place and reached our destination at around 1 P.M.
The village community gave us a warm welcome and gathered us at a place where all
their achievements were put on a display, which included pictures that showed
considerable transformation in different areas of the village like the gymnasium,
hospital, upper and lower lanes of the streets. The 'sarpanch' of the village, Mr. Popatrao
Pawar had received various accolades from renowned personalities which also
included our Honourable Prime Minister, Shri. Narendra Modi.
We then left for Ralegan Siddhi and reached the village at around 5 P.M. We went around
the campus of a school which had a big playground and was well structured and painted.
We were taken to the audio-visual room which had on display all their advancements,
under the leadership of Mr. Anna Hazare. The village had an area of 982.31 ha. It is
considered a model of environmental conservation. The village has carried out
programs like tree planting, terracing to reduce soil erosion and digging canals to retain
rainwater. For energy, the village uses solar power, biogas and a windmill. The project
is heralded as a sustainable model of a village republic.
Mr. Anna Hazare, Sarpanch of the village, is accredited in helping in the development
of the village. He was awarded the Padma Bhushan- the third-highest civilian award
