What is a Cluster?
• A cluster is a collaboration of companies and industries
• In a geographic area, which are interrelated by the segments they serve, and the goods they produce
• In addition to the suppliers, trade associations and educational institutions
• Clusters develops and commercializes new ideas and businesses.

• Three major auto Cluster – General Motors, Ford and DaimlerChrysler – collectively operate six assembly plants in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).
• More than 700 parts manufacturers help make the GTA one of the most vital and diverse automotive clusters on the continent.

• GTA automotive companies employ close to 50,000 workers, second only to Detroit, and produce more than 1.1 million cars, trucks and minivans per year.

All-new BMW 5 Series makes debutin New York
• BMW introduced its all new 2011 5 Series in New York at the International Auto Show.
• The 5 Series has the longest wheelbase in segment, with a long and sleek hood, short overhangs and a coupe-like roofline.
Honda to restart ideal production line in Alliston
• Honda’s Alliston plant located in Ontario is restarted a second shift and adding more than 400 jobs.
• This is going to be good news for the Canadian automotive cluster, showing signs of recovery.
• The Alliston plant produces the Civic sedan, Acura MDX and Acura ZDX.
