Authoritarianism: vests authority in an elite group that may or may not rule in the interests of the people. Dictatorships, Monarchies, Oligarchies, Juntas are all examples.

Form of government in which political power rests with a small elite segment of society. Often controlled by

powerful families

System where only one party forms the government-NO OPPOSITION ALLOWED!

Political Power resides with the military leadership. Can also be called a

junta

They project a vision of what the country could be/should be/how great things could be, etc

People are allowed to feel as if they are contributing to the country somehow
