• Secondary Glazing

- Must be reversible in order to protect the significance of the building

- Need a sufficient gap (at least 200 mm) between the two sheet of glass

- If not possible to have a sufficient gap, one should consider double glazing (see next slide)

- Some systems can be removed easily in summer in order to take advantages of passive solar gain

• Double glazing - Usually too tick to fit into existing timber window frame

- But now new products that are thinner but MORE expensive

- Need a cost-efficient analysis

• Film inside the window

- Less efficient than secondary and double glazing

- Different kind of films depending on the orientation of the windows
