Pairings In this book, Pairings explores several of my favorite moments and pairings of wine and cheese, those that are highlighted and enhanced by each other. The text presents common sayings about couples, posing thoughts about how I feel our culture finds individuals as more complete if they are coupled up. You see the wine and cheese overlaid together, showcasing the set, but also alone. 9.75inH x 5.875inW x 1inD Materials: Lanaquarelle paper, Letterpress ink, Watercolor, Decorative papers, Thread, Glue. 200

Anchovy Sister Receptors for food and sex are physically linked in the limbic system of the brain, which controls emotional activity. It is not surprising therefore that good food = good sex. This equation taps into modern-day dating behavior, where the search for reproductive success usually occurs over a delicious meal. 8 x 10 inches Collage on wood panel with high gloss epoxy resin 180
Fishy Seduction To reproduce effectively, a female needs not only insemination but also provisioning. Particularly in species such as ours, where she is relatively dependent on her partner during the suckling period. Thus, a partner's willingness to provide food becomes an important index of their suitability as a mate. Above all, it suggests their willingness to 'invest' in offspring. 8 x 10 inches Collage on wood panel with high gloss epoxy resin 180

Heritage Peppers These Heritage Peppers are from Let's Go Farm. They're paired with an old metal stool that sits on an even older wooden bench from our summer home in the Pennsylvania mountains. I love the soft grey color and many nicks and cracks of the bench. As I worked on the peppers, they turned from light green to yellow to orange, so I decided to capture this transition and add a pop of color. 30inH x 15inW x 1.5inD Oil on Canvas 2,500
Harvest Pumpkin At Thanksgiving, I bought this unique pumpkin with gnarled stem and twisted tendrils from Foggy River Farm. It sits on my grandfather's flour bin painted 1930s pale grey-green. The old shutters add a richer, bluer green and a beautiful salmon peeking through the chipped paint. A tin flower bucket added height. The pumpkin's bright contrasting color and strong texture makes it pop off the canvas. 30inH x 15inW x 1.5inD Oil on Canvas 2,500

Spaghetti Al Dente I enjoy the process of transforming old, discarded metal objects into something new. I do not work from sketches, so decisions I make about a piece are based on what feels right in the moment. Often a piece speaks to what it wants, of how it wants to look. Other times, in the process of play, pieces come together in unexpected ways. Those moments are the best. Welded repurposed metal Metal 400

Oops, The Chocolate Melted! The wall sculpture 'Oops, The Chocolate Melted!' tells the story that even a little mishap in the kitchen, like accidentally melted chocolate, still looks and tastes delicious. The natural colors and grain of the reclaimed redwood, the carved 'melting waves' in combination with the smooth surface lead to the sweet temptation to actually take a bite. 33 x 10 x 2 inches Reclaimed Redwood 780
