I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised; So shall I be saved from my enemies.
(Psalm 18:3)
Our Lord is indeed worthy to be praised, and every week millions all across the globe join together to
do just that. Many of us, who lead God's children in worship, have good intensions (I believe), but we
get wrapped up in the "show" or the performance. For some it may become a competition, but we lose
sight of true worship, and Whom we should be worshiping. Those of us who lead in worship have been
given a great responsibility, and we must not take it lightly. Just as the pastor, the shepherd of the
flock, will someday be held accountable to God, so shall those who lead the flock to His throne for worship and praise.
I am so grateful to God for where he has placed me for His service. And, for those who have come alongside me. If
you've been paying any attention lately, our team continues to grow. We are blessed to have several talented young
musicians join our team. One of those young musicians is David Miller. David is the one playing cello under the palm
tree. Mr. Miller is very talented, and the more I get to know him, the more I realize his love for Christ. Thanks David
for sharing your God given talents with NHBC.

From Demon Possessed to Jesus Possessed
When I think of all the people Jesus ministered to it is overwhelming. The Pharisees gave him grief
because He made a point of being with sinners but they are the ones that needed His help. The religious
leaders thought they had it all together. They did not. Many of the people we minister to in the jails think they
are okay but they are not.
We have a great team of female volunteers that minister to women in jail and these women need Jesus. They have drug
abuse, alcohol abuse and very messed up relationships.
In the Easter story we find mention of MaryMagdalene who was healed by Jesus of 7 demons.(Luke 8:2) Her life must
have been miserable, can you imagine? Demon possessed. Many of the ladies in jail are in a mess, some have to be restrained
and spit guards are put on their heads, can you imagine? Mary Magdalene was in tough shape. Then she encountered Jesus and
He called out the Demons.
Mary was in a tragic situation bound for hell—a hopeless eternity......Then Jesus healed her!!! He completely cleansed
her and made her brand new. She then followed Jesus. In Matthew 27:61 she followed the body of Jesus to the grave we see her
in John 20:1 coming to the tomb on the 1at day of the week only to find the stone rolled away and the tomb empty.
But then as she was weeping she encounter her Lord. She recognized the voice of her “Rabboni”—Teacher, her Master
and Lord. We have a prayer that all females (and males) in the bondage of sin will her the voice of Jesus saying:
“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest,” (Matt. 11:28)
God is doing big things in the Hispanic ministry of Northern Height Baptist Church! On Sunday, March 22,
2015, Hispanic Churches from around the Nebraska area gathered together for an evening of fellowship and
encouragement. A wonderful message, food, and music were shared by the Church fellowships from Norfolk,
Schyler, Octavia, and South Sioux City. 200 people enjoyed big pots of Mexican Pozole, a soup lovingly
made by ladies from our Hispanic congregation. And the kids got very excited when a bouncy castle was in-
flated for them.
We would like to thank everyone from NHBC
who came and supported us on this Sunday.
God blessed everyone there that evening through the preaching of His Word. The sermon was given by Pastor
and Missionary Abraham Arevalo and the Youth and Children attended classes for their age groups.
We could see that God was especially working in the youth class (ages 11-14). Katherine Perrigan ex-
plained the Gospel using the Gospel Acronym www.lifein6words.com and Sara Ayala worked as a translator for a
student not yet comfortable with English. As the saving message of the Gospel was clearly explained to the stu-
dent, for the first time it made sense. After a few more questions were answered, the student decided to exer-
cise faith and accept the gift of salvation through Jesus the Savior.
This is why Pastors and Sunday School Teachers do what they do. The Great Commission is to go and make
disciples of all nations, but God has not left us to our own strength. He says “Behold, I am with you always, to
the end of the age.” If we continue to obey Him, He will continue to give us the strength to do it.

What does it mean to be a citizen of the kingdom of
Heaven? Matthew’s gospel opens with three chapters
containing Jesus’ longest recorded message - a sermon given to His disciples early in His ministry to articulate
what the life of a Christ-follower would look like. It was a
message intended to turn upside down every expectation
His closest followers might have. Both practical and
profound, the sermon asks of us the same questions it
posed to its original hearers: How should a disciple relate to sin? To others? To the Law? How does a disciple
think, speak, and act? What is the nature of true
righteousness? Learn what it means to be a citizen of the
kingdom of Heaven according to Jesus’ Sermon on the
Mount through a 9-week study led by Jen Wilken.

NHBC VAN NEWS
Lawn And Flower Bed Maintenance
Ready To Serve: Ready to get involved at Northern Heights Baptist Church? There are lots of ways that you can serve and get connected with other people at the same time. One way is by joining the church lawn care team. Ralph Johnson is currently recruiting people to serve on a rotation for mowing the grass and another team to care for the flower beds. Thank you for all your help last year! If you are interested in serving in one or both of those capacities this year, please call Ralph Johnson at 402-750-5807 or sign up at the Welcome Center. The rotation will require approximately 4 times during the season. First impressions really matter. From the children's classes to the friendliness of your greeters, to the lawn and flowers, believe it or not, new guests are evaluating their experience. Within the first ten minutes they will be either impressed or disappointed. That impression or disappointment either helps them see Jesus or distracts their view of Him.
Join a team that takes first impressions seriously!!
