Antoni Gaudi is a Spanish architect/artist. He is best known for his organic designs which imitate and work with nature as opposed to

competing and taking over.

Many of his designs contain bright colours in

the form of mosaics.

Here is some art inspired by Antoni Gaudi’s work.

Your task

Today you are going to create a mosaic animal!

You will need Paper, pencil, black felt tip, coloured felt tips and/or coloured pencils.

Step 1

Draw an outline of an animal on your piece of paper.

Not sure where to start? Try copying one of these :)

Step 2Trace over your outline in black felt tip

Make sure you erase your sketch lines after you outline with felt tip

Step 3

IMPORTANT:Your job is to make your

image look like a mosaic. Therefore, the distance

between the tiles/shapes is extremely important!

Now inside your animal outline, begin your mosaic pattern with a focus point.

Maybe a flower, swirl, sun, star.

Step 4After staring with your flower, sun, swirl or star; fill the whole outline with decorative patterns, shapes that are soft and wavy.
