HFICD Mission
1. Provide a forum for the exchange of technical information for practitioners within the field
2. Provide mechanisms for training and education for individuals entering the field or practitioners improving their skills
3. Serve as an advocated for advancing HFICD technology and/or practice within the nuclear arena
4. Serve as a point-of-access for external inquiries into nuclear HFICD technology and/or practices
HFICD Scope
The focus of the HFICD is on the information and human-system interface aspects of nuclear systems. This includes the sensors that transduce physical processes into signals, the data processing and communications systems, the information display, and the perception and interpretation of information by humans. Both operational status and system health are extracted from measured signals. The interaction humans with automation and their decision processes are particular foci of the division.
