1986Mike Windischmann, first-team All-State andteam MVP, competes for the U.S. National Teamfor the second consecutive year.

1987Coach Montgomery earns his 100th career win ina 1-0 victory over St. John's University, leadingthe Panthers to their best-ever Division I record of14-4-2, en route to the NCAA Tournament. #11Adelphi edged Hartwick, 1-0, in double overtimeto advance past the first round before falling toHarvard, 3-0, in the quarterfinals.

1988Adelphi went 14-6-1 and Duane Robinson wasnamed third-team All-America and first-team All-State. The Panthers made their second trip to theNCAA Tournament in as many years, but areknocked out by Brooklyn, 4-1, in the first round.

1989Adelphi finished a grueling season with a 12-3-3record. The Panthers finished the season with arecord five games ending in overtime with 2-0-3.Duane Robinson, Adelphi's leading scorer, fin-ished the season ranked third in NCAA Division I.Robinson, named a second-team All-Americanand first-team All-State, continues to hold theAdelphi career goals record (55).

1990Adelphi (14-6-1) opened the season on a fourgame win streak, eventually tying the schoolrecord for most wins (14) in a season. CoachMontgomery is named NY State Coach of theYear. The Panthers advanced to the second-round of the Division I NCAA Tournament for thefirst time ever, defeating Brooklyn, 1-0. No. 17nationally-ranked Adelphi lost to Rutgers, 3-2 inovertime. 1991Adelphi battles through a record six overtimegames in route to a No. 14 nationally ranking anda 10-4-5 overall record. The last two overtimecontests came at the end of the season, withAdelphi tying Oneonta, 1-1 before advancing tothe NCAA Tournament. The Panthers lost to

Seton Hall, 2-1 in four overtimes in the first round.

1992Adelphi (11-6-2) finished the season ranked 21stwith its sixth consecutive winning season. CoachMontgomery led the Panthers to its sixth NCAATournament.

1993Chris Armas led the Adelphi in scoring and wasnamed honorable mention All-America. Armas,named All-State and team MVP, earned his thirdconsecutive Academic All-America honor. ThePanthers used an eight-game, mid-seasonunbeaten streak to finish with an 8-8-2 record,their seventh straight season of posting a .500record or better.

1994The Panthers played the season with a youngteam as the 23-man roster comprised of 16 play-ers who were either sophomores (10) or fresh-man (6). Despite their youth, the Panthersopened the season winning four of their first sixgames. Plagued by injuries, Adelphi limped to a5-12-1 record, the first sub .500 season since1986.

1995Starting four freshman and four sophomores, thePanthers were 5-12.

1996The Panthers used a late-season six-game winstreak to leap over .500, but an overtime loss toeventual national champion St. John's sent thePanthers on a three-game tailspin as they ended the year at 8-9-1.

1997Adelphi was 6-13. Mark Reinhold earned All-Region honors and was a Verizon Academic All-America honorable mention.

1998Adelphi suffered a disappointing 3-14-1 season,their lowest win percentage in school history(.176). A 3-1 win over Fairleigh Dickinson endeda five-game drought to give the Panthers theirfirst win of the season. Coach Montgomery is justtwo wins away from his 200th career victory.

1999Coach Montgomery earns his 200th career winwith a 2-0 victory over Fordham on September 9,1999. Adelphi finished the season 8-9.

2000Adelphi joins the Atlantic Soccer Conference(ASC) after 20 years as an independent institu-tion. The Panthers were 10-9-0 (.526), post theirfirst winning season seven years. MarcinPachowicz is named ASC Player of the year andled the conference in points per game and goalsand was third in assists.

2001After getting off to a slow start (0-5), the AdelphiPanthers rallied back to finish the 2001 season

with a 8-8-1(.531) overall record and 3-3 in theAtlantic Soccer Conference (ASC). The 2001season marked coach Montgomery’s 14th win-ning season.

2002The Panthers finished the season with a mark of5-12-1 overall. But played strong in the ASC,going 3-2 and finishing third.

2003Adelphi started the season hot, going 4-1-1 intheir first six games on their way to a 8-6-3record, giving Montgomery his 15th winning sea-

son. The Panthers fin-ished 2-2-1 in the ASC,placing third for the thirdstraight year. SeniorGary Sullivan becamejust the second Adelphiplayer ever selected inthe MLS SuperDraftwhen the ColoradoRapids made him the45th overall pick in the2004 draft.

2004Adelphi fielded a young team (18 newcomers) in2004, but posted a strong 2-1 victory at Syracuseearly before faltering midway through the season.The Panthers recoverd to win three of their lastfive games and post a mark of 6-9-1 overall.

2005For the second season in a row the Panthersopened up with a win, topping Manhattan, 1-0.But would wind up finishing 4-13-2 overall, butcould have easily posted a winning record, hav-ing lost five games by one goal.

2006The 2006 season was a year of milestones forAdelphi. Coach Montgomery earned his 250thcareer victory and led the Panthers to their firstAtlantic Soccer Conference regular season andtournament titles. Adelphi also returned to theNCAA Tournament for the first time since 1992.

2007The Panthers had a new face on the sideline in2007 for the first time in almost three decades, asCarlo Acquista took over as Head Coach. Adelphistarted slow, but closed well, posting a record of4-3-1 in their final eight games.

Montgomery was a part of the Panther pro-gram for over 30 years.

Joe A fful helped thePanthers to an 8-6-3finish in 2003.

1954The Panthers completed their first recorded sea-son with a 2-4-1 overall record.

1962Constantine Dodos' record 25 goals in a single-season remains as the longest standing record inAdelphi soccer history.

1963In his first year as head coach, Laurence Holt ledthe Panthers to a 13-2-0 record and aMetropolitan Conference title. The Panthers alsoposted their best season start, winning their firstfour consecutive games. Constatine Dodos andAlejandro Ponce tie the single season goalsrecord with 25 each. Dodos also set the Adelphirecord for most points in a season (65), which stillstands today.

1964Holt returned to coach Adelphi to a 5-7-2 record.

1965Bob Ritcey joined the Adelphi staff, coaching thePanthers to a 4-9-2 record.

1967Jim Dolan was named to the All-Met Conferencewith a 2.35 goals against average, playing all 17games in goal including two shutouts.

1968Mel Less becomes the sixth head coach inAdelphi soccer history and would go on to coachthe Panthers for the next 10 years compiling a110-32-19 record. Jim Dolan once again earnedAll-Met honors.

1969Dolan continues to lead Adelphi and is namedAll-State. He earns All-Met honors for the thirdstraight season leading the Panthers to a 10-2-3record. Adelphi finishes the season with a No. 3regional ranking.

1971Adelphi completes the season ranked fifth in theregion with a 7-2-3 record. Carlos Scott, Adelphi'sleading scorer, earns All-State and All-Met hon-ors. Peter Amari is also named All-Met.

1972Adelphi converts to a Division II program, and

advances to the firstround of the NCAADivision II Tournament.The Panthers (12-3-2),earn their first evernational ranking, finish-ing the season at No.15. Dick Heyn andgoalie EugeneDuChateau bothreceive All-State andAll-Met honors.Carlos Scott earns his

second straight All-Met nod.

1973Coach Less was named the Met ConferenceCoach of the Year after the Panthers posted aspotless 7-0 conference record and set a newschool record for most wins in a season (16),which still stands today. Adelphi (16-2-1) finishedthird in the NCAA Division II Tournament. The#14 ranked Panthers fell to UM-St. Louis, 1-0, inthe Semifinal and went on to defeat UMBC, 1-0,in the consolation round. Five players earn All-State and All-Met honors. Eugene DuChateauset the Adelphi record for most shutouts in a sea-son with 12, a record that still stands.

1974The Panthers won its first-ever NCAAChampionship under seventh-year head coachMel Less. Adelphi recorded the best winning per-centage in school history as they were victoriousin 16 of 18 games finished the season (.941).The #5 nationally ranked Adelphi team defeatedSeattle Pacific in the championship game, 3-2.Nimrod Dreyfuss becomes the first Adelphi play-er to earn All-American honors after being namedto the second team. Dreyfuss, team MVP, alsoearned first-team All-State and All-Met honors.

1975Adelphi made its fourth straight appearance atthe NCAA Division II Tournament, finishing thirdoverall. Seattle Pacific avenged last year's loss,downing Adelphi 3-2, ending the Panthers' hopeof a repeat performance. Nimrod Dreyfuss wasnamed first-team All-American and CharlieO'Donnell was named to the third-team. Two-timeteam MVP, Dreyfuss earned first-team All-Stateand All-Met honors. For the third time in as manyyears, Adelphi went undefeated (7-0) in the MetConference. Eugene DuChateu completed his

career as Adelphi's mostsuccessful goalie. His sea-son and career recordsremain a benchmark for oth-ers to follow.

1976Adelphi (11-3-2) successful-ly move back up to DivisionI, earning a NCAATournament bid. The #10nationally ranked Panthersfell to St. Francis, 2-1, in thefirst round. Nimrod Dreyfuss

is named to first-team All-State

for the third consecutive season.

1977Adelphi heads to its first-ever Eastern CollegeAthletic Conference (ECAC) To u r n a m e n t ,advancing to the final round after defeatingUmass, 1-0. The Panthers finish second, losingto Oneonta, 2-1, in the championship game.Coach Mel Less earned his 100th win with a 1-0victory against LIU-Brooklyn. All-America NimrodDreyfuss completes his sweep of the team MVPhonors, receiving the award four consecutiveseasons. The season marked the final campaignin Mel Less's 10 years as Adelphi's head coach.

1978Bob Montgomery assumes the role of headcoach after serving one season as an assistantcoach in 1977. Montgomery led his squad to a10-4 overall record and a trip to the NCAADivision I Tournament. The No. 15-rankedPanthers were once again stopped by St.Frances, 1-0, in the first round. Carlos Curling,Adelphi's leading scorer, was named a third-teamAll-America and first-team All-State.

1979Adelphi was 11-4 overall and 4-1 in what wouldbe its last year in the Met Conference. GerryReardon earned first-team All-America and All-State honors. Tony Prescott, the team's leadingscorer, was also named first-team All-State.

1980Adelphi competes for the first time as an inde-pendent institution and went 9-5-1. Leading scor-er Gerry Reardon was selected third-team All-American and first-team All-State.

1981Adelphi, ranked ninth in the final NY State rank-ings, went 9-8-2. Gerry Reardon and goalkeeperRay Hughes are each named first-team All-State.

1982Four-time team MVP Gerry Reardon, was namedsecond-team All-America and first-team All-State.Reardon is also named MVP of the Senior Bowl.The Panthers suffered their lowest win percent-age to date, finishing the season 6-12-2 (.333).

1983Adelphi was 10-5-3, posting its best Division Iseason start since 1964, by winning its first fourcontests. Paul Riley and Steve Solaski each arenamed first-team All-State.

1984Mike Windischmann and Paul Riley earn first-team All-State as Adelphi finishes 11-7-1.

1985Mike Windischmann becomes the first Adelphiplayer to compete as a member of the U.S.

National and U.S. World Cup teams.Windischmann, a second-team All-America andfirst-team All-State, led Adelphi to a 14-5-0
