Tabs are gone

Your ‘tabs’ at the top seem to have disappeared

They’ve been replaced with Navigation links on the left hand side, like personal profiles

The Page has Independence

Admins can assume the brand identity This means ‘pages’ can now ‘like’ other

brands Your Page can make comments on other

Pages– Previously only your personal profile could

do this

E-mail alerts

The new page system means you will get an email every time someone posts to your page or makes a comment!

You can opt out, but you cannot control the number of emails you get a day, it’s ‘as it happens’ or nothing

These posts will appear in the News Feed, on people's home pages who have already "Liked" your Page as well as your Page's wall

Re-sized profile pic and canvas

The profile picture size (usually your logo) for Pages has changed from 200x600 to 180x540– Most pictures still look ok

The size of the canvas has changed from 520px to 500 px which may impact existing FBML pages and designers may need to adjust the page

Feature your Page’s favourites

1 – SELECT Featured

2 – Tick Pages to feature

3 – Ignore or add specific page owners (i.e. the admins)

FBML is going

Facebook will remove static FBML pages on 11 March 2011

This means you can’t add new FBML tabs to a Page

If you already have existing apps using FBML and static FBML, these will continue to work, although you’re advised to upgrade these

iFrames are on the way

Page Tab apps can be built using iFrames This means you can build apps that run

across Facebook using standards-based web programming model (HTML, JavaScript, and CSS)
