Day 1, Durnstein: Arrive at the Vienna airport and make your way to nearby Durnstein. Durnstein is a small town nestled on the banks of the Danube river in the Wachau region, a well-known wine growing area. Here you will stay in a romantic castle hotel in medieval walls 3 generations of the Thiery family have pampered guests since 1884. Medieval walls, regional artworks and a wonderful location give this house a unique character. In the refectory with its open fire, the romantic terrace restaurant overlooking the Danube, or the idyllic garden with swimming pool - a sense of peace greets you everywhere. Here you can wander the quaint Austrian town, the river path along the Danube or relax in the castle hotel's spa. Enjoy dinner on the terrace restaurant. Overnight in castle hotel in Durnstein. Day 2, Durnstein: This morning after breakfast, make your way to nearby Melk Abbey. Melk Abbey is a Benedictine abbey on a rocky outcrop overlooking the Danube river.The abbey contains the tomb of Saint Coloman of Stockerau and the remains of several members of the House of Babenberg, Austria's first ruling dynasty. Overnight in Durnstein. Day 3, Innsbruck: This morning after breakfast, make your way to Innsbruck. Innsbruck is a city in the Alps that's long
been a destination for winter sports. Innsbruck is also known for its Imperial and modern architecture. The Nordkette funicular, with futuristic stations designed by architect Zaha Hadid, climbs up to 2,256m from the city center Overnight in Innsbruck. Day 4, Innsbruck: After breakfast at the hotel, enjoy the city of Innsbruck. Take in some shopping or a hike. Overnight in Innsbruck. Day 5, Salzburg: After breakfast this morning, make your way to nearby Salzburg. Enjoy the Alpine views and the musical history of this quaint Austrian city. Day 6, Salzburg: Today after breakfast, enjoy the beautiful city and its surroundings. Overnight in Salzburg. Day 7-9, Vienna: Today, make your way to Vienna. Vienna, Austria’s capital, lies in the country’s east on the Danube River. Its artistic and intellectual legacy was shaped by residents including Mozart, Beethoven and Sigmund Freud. The city is also known for its Imperial palaces, including Schönbrunn, the Habsburgs’ summer residence. In the MuseumsQuartier district, historic and contemporary buildings display works by Egon Schiele, Gustav Klimt and other artists. Vienna is your base for the next three nights. Day 10, DEPARTURE: After breakfast at your hotel, early afternoon departure from Vienna airport.
