INTERVENTIONS FOR EACH TRANS-DIAGNOSTIC FACTOR

Trans-diagnostic factor Intervention

Short-term focus (1) Values

Rumination (2) Defusion Mindfulness and emotion

awareness

Negative appraisal (3) Cognitive Flexibility Defusion

Response persistence (4) Interpersonal effectiveness Doing the opposite

Experiential avoidance (5) Doing the opposite Situational exposure

Interoceptive exposure Imagery-based emotion

exposure

Hostility or aggression (6) Interpersonal effectiveness

Emotional masking (7) Imagery – based emotion exposure

A TRANS-DIAGNOSTIC GROUP

12 - week protocol  1 ½ hour weekly session  2 co-facilitators  Offer to clients with different degrees of

emotional dysregulation problems  Offer to clients with different diagnosis

including depression, anxiety, anger problems.  Four different data points: pre-treatment, mid-

treatment, post-treatment, and a 1-month follow-up.

  Values (experiential exercise)

  Values in action log (handout)

  Planning committed actions
