Volume LVI, Number 17 Alamogordo, New Mexico June 21, 2017

May 17th Meeting Members present were James Scott, Tyana Lehmann,

and John and Anita Cowart. The members present

discussed the NOW event scheduled for July. They

decided that it should be on Saturday, July 15, at

4:00pm. Jim will purchase hamburger patties and

John and Anita will furnish a grill and charcoal. All

members are encouraged to bring a prospective

member. If we are to continue the programs that this

club has offered to our community, we need new

members to help us out. After good humored

fellowship, the meeting was adjourned.

Wisdom If you don’t live the only life you have, you won’t

live some other life; you won’t live any life at all. –

James Baldwin

Dime-a-Day The Optimist International Foundation supports our

Oratorical and Essay Scholarships and helps to fund

club projects. It needs our support. Every member

should try to contribute $36.50 to the Optimist

Foundation. This is just $0.10 a day. Most of us

spend $36.50 on a night out. So, look deep into your

heart and find a way to bring a check for the OI

Foundation for $36.50 to our next meeting.

Next Meeting The next meeting will be June 21st at Pepper’s Grill,

3400 N. White Sands. Food service begins at 5:30

and the meeting begins at 6:00. Bring a friend.
