Academic advisor
• Academic matters (mainly)• For one or two years• Responsible for appraisal process• Will talk you through your formative
results• You must meet at least three times
Medical student support team
• This is where you go for help with personal problems

Academic advisors
• You will be contacted by your academic advisor within the next few weeks.
• Seeing them is not voluntary or optional, but an absolute requirement for the programme.
Personal support
• It may well be that the medical student support team will be able to help you directly.
• But they will also be able to refer you on to other support systems.
Other support systems
• In the School of Medicine we have the psychology advisory service – this is a confidential service
• You may also use the University support services
