Diameter and Circumfrence

• You will begin at the front doors of Bartoo Hall. You will find the center circle in the design of the door.

• First find the Diameter of the circle.

• Then find the Circumfrence.

Measurement and Perimeter

• Walk down the steps and turn right. Walk to memorial gymnasium then turn left and walk across the street. Walk on the sidewalk until you to the flower octagon.

• Measure the length of one side, of the flower octagon.

• Use this measurement to find the Perimeter.

Fractions• Turn left and walk across

the grass to the sidewalk parallel to the one you are on.

• Find the octagon with the triangles.

• Stand on one of the triangles.

• What fraction of the octagon are you standing on?

• What fraction of the octagon are you NOT standing on?

Determining Angles

• Then you turn completely around and face Bartoo Hall. Walk across the street to the trashcan in front of Bartoo Hall.

• Find the measurements of all three angles of the triangle.

• Then determine the type of triangles they are.

Solutions

• Slide two -Diameter and Circumfrence: 7 3/4 in. and approx. 24.35

• Slide three - Measurement and Perimeter: 9ft and 72ft.

• Slide four - Fractions: 1/8; 7/8• Slide 5 - Angles :50, 50, 80; acute

isosceles triangle.
