description

The working concept for the sculptural mural to be installed in the central space of 500 Startups, embodies philosophies of ecological design through the use of common disposable materials featuring drawings and paintings exposing the generative processes integral to creativity and innovation. The merging of disposable and often invisible materials provides commentary of the ephemeral qualities of existence and questions the ways in which we respond to current modes of production while attempting to remain ‘human’. In Duarte’s previous work entitled Casitas Voladoras, he addresses the home as body in commentary about global migration. Along these same lines, global movement and cross pollination present interesting points of inquiry that intersect with 500 Startups. We invite ALL to participate. In solidarity with the embedded philosophies and design approach of 500 Start Ups we invite people to engage the following prompts: Draw a space for holding thoughtsWrite an equation for creativityFree association write: Prompt: and it suddenly cracked up and began to spill forth…Write an algorithm for productivity
