Significant Changes and Improvements
Although the 850 Commando looked very similar to the 750, there were made a number of significant mechanical changes, including:
Fixes to the Combat engine – camshaft and roller main bearing
Foot gear change moved to left side to match USA and Japan
Rear disc brake introduced
Electric starter motor introduced
Isolastic engine mounts to reduce engine vibration
30 kilograms heavier
