• Our mission is to improve the health of the public by advancing medical knowledge, providing outstanding primary and specialty medical care to the citizens of the region, and preparing tomorrow’s physicians, scientists, and other health professionals

• In FY07, UW Medicine faculty received $579.7 million in NIH research awards and more than $800 million of total research funding.
• This placed UW Medicine:– 1st among public medical schools– 2nd among all medical schools
• Faculty honors– 5 Nobel laureates – 5 winners of the Lasker Award– 6 winners of the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists
