. . . of statisticsabout the club.

LIES,

DAMNED LIES,

AND STATISTICS.

Mark Twain1906

Figures often beguile me, particularly when I have the arranging of them myself; in which case the remark attributed to Disraeli would often apply with justice and force: “There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics."

In general I think the survey was well done, and I appreciate the club beingInterested in my opinion. . . that showed a touch of class.

It was long. I hope a good number of membersWere able to complete it.

The board should not have entered into thisSurvey without first bringing the idea to theMembership.

Too long.

This is a pretty long survey, although when I completed it I felt itCovered the required subject matter adequately. Not sure how it Could be shortened or if it should have been shorter.

So who gets to the results and respondents? Why complete a surveywhen folks would have provided some insight on the “whys and wherebys”if they are asked in person? Communications need to be forthright, not bedone in a roundabout why. . . .

This was well-thought out and appreciated. I’m gladto be a member and participate.

Good survey and I hope most of the members tookit and didn’t weal out with the short-form version.I also hope my input and the input of others is taken to heart and used to better the club.

Asking members anything what they want in the way of changes is risky, because members tend to be the oneswho like it the way it is. What you’d really like to know is,why aren’t all the other riders in the area not joining? My health food store once did a survey asking members ifthe store should sell meat. The response was anoverwhelming NO. They sold meat anyway, and it waswildly popular and brought in a whole new customer base.Surprise!

I wish you had warned me it would take an hour andhave 72 questions.

I think the fact that we had to have a damn survey tofigure things out speaks volumes about the lack ofcommunication and level of political bull crap thatgoes on within this club. I am a long term memberand I’m undecided if I will continue to be as I’m fed up.

Thanks for the opportunity to allow us to voice ouropinion. The format is identical to surveys from myemployer. Hopefully, this will result in changebeneficial to the club and its members.

Nice job, it represents a lot of thought.

Well done!

Nicely organized.

Good idea to get feedback from the members.

Glad the board is proactive andconcerned about the club’sfuture. Maybe we should havea MUCH SMALLER but morefrequent quarterly or annualsurvey to ensure we continueto meet members’ needs, andas a vehicle to solicit input, opinions, suggestions. . .

I would be interested in seeingthe results.
