Technologists) and of RAeS
• It was established in 1956, initiated by
• Norman Brown of BOAC,
• Beverley Shenstone, Chief Engineer of BEA and
• Sir Bob Lickley, Technical Director of Fairey Aviation
• Maintains “reasonable” relationship with British
Airways
• One of the most diverse and prestigious branches
and the only London branch of the Society

at BA Waterside HQ, with visit to the Speedbird Heritage Centre, a networking reception sponsored by
Boeing UK and a young persons’ lecture “RAeS Schools Build-A-Plane Project”

In February, our Volunteers
participated/delivered a
range of community
outreach activities,
including the 10th Heathrow
Jobs & Careers Fair,
Careers Talks to BA Work
Experience Programme,
and Kingston University
students etc.
COOL AERONAUTICS 2017
On 22 February 2017, the Branch successfully delivered our first “Cool Aeronautics” flagship primary school
outreach event of 2017 at Kingston University’s state-of-art Roehampton Vale Campus, with assistances from
the Society HQ, Kingston University London and British Airways Engineering Graduate and Pilot.
