All the academic books in the Balliol, Port Academy and HE Libraries are arranged in Dewey number order. This means that, to make resources easier to find, every subject is given a number between 000 and 999.
For example Management is 658 so if you can find 658 on a spine label then the book will relate to that topic,
such as Financial Management, which is 658.15.
The spine label also includes the first three letters of the author’s surname.
There are notices in and around the bookshelves to help you locate these numbers. If you need any help please ask a member of library staff.
