What is yoga?
• A way of life• Ancient Sanskrit word that means union.• A connection of the mind, body, and spirit.• It started in India over 5,000 years ago, but
everyone can benefit from it.
The Western World
• By the time yoga made it to the western world, it lost some meaning.
• We focus on the outer and physical benefits of yoga.
• We put a lot of focus on science and medicine, when with yoga we realize what we think we become.
• We take time to connect with our heart.
Types of Yoga
• Mantra Yoga – the yoga of sound• Raha Yoga – royal yoga• Bhakti Yoga – devotional yoga• Hatha Yoga – physical yoga

• There are subtle differences between all forms of yoga but they all have one similarity and that is focusing on the breath.
• Without breath, we can’t live.• Focusing on our breath helps us to relax.
