Academic disciplinary procedures
These relate to poor academic performance which is likely to prejudice your chances of successfully completing
the course
Disciplinary action A10
This disciplinary is used within the first 6 weeks of you starting you course
The reason why you would be issued with this disciplinary is for:
poor/lack of attendance late for lessons submitting in work late failure to bring in course handbook general classroom behaviour

What happens next:
Within the first 3 weeks on you starting your course, if you are spoken to about any of the previous (teachers have raised concerns) you will be issued with an A10.
You will then have a review date whereby your SLA/CQTM will review your progress on the course.
If you have not improved on your performance, then at this stage you can be withdrawn from your course.
Reasons for academic disciplinary actions
Frequent lateness Persistent/unreasonable/extended absence Persistent disruption of a class Failure to complete assignments and/or hand in coursework
by agreed specified deadlines Persistent inappropriate use of mobile phones or personal
music players in class Low level, irritating behaviour which makes learning difficult
for other students Verbal use towards a member of staff in the classroom Unsatisfactory performance on work placement Plagiarism Cheating

Process: excluded before 12pm return back to college the following day at 9am.
Excluded after 12pm return back to college the next day at 12.30pm
Before you are allowed back into the classroom you must attend:

Misconduct procedures deal with wider student misconduct, both inside and
outside the classroom
Misconduct procedures
Students, staff and visitors have the right to enjoy a peaceful and safe environment
and some kinds of behaviour are not acceptable in the college.
Misconduct procedures
The college is also part of a wider local community and we will take action
regarding behaviour in local shops and surrounding areas which may bring the
college into disrepute.

M3 Vandalism / damage to college property
Fights
Abusive and aggressive towards members of staff
Refusal to show college ID pass
Stage 1 Verbal Warning or M1
