Julia Da Silva- Beharry Training Session on how to create a Blog with
at blogger.com. Before we begin our tutorial session let us examine a brief overview on the purposes of a Blog which encompasses the functions of a Blog. Brief Overview: A Blog is an evidence of a self-promotion website towards developing collaborative communities with common interests. It also creates an opportunity with an aim to gather and disseminate the input and expertise of that community knowledge and skills. In this scenario using the Blog in the Classroom as an educational tool, it can be integrated in a multi-faceted manner to accommodate all learners. A Blog can serve at least four basic functions. These functions are considered as student portfolio, classroom management, collaboration and discussions. As a result, teachers can use a Blog as a useful online tool to integrate technology in the classroom. Additionally, a Blog can work well for students because they can be able to access a Blog virtually at any time, in any place with an Internet- enabled computer. Therefore, a Blog can be used by computer savvy teachers to create a classroom that extends further than the boundaries of the school yard.
