Stop one-way uses of waste, process by-products and residues by switching to waste valorising strategies instead of waste management strategies.
3. Consider closed-loop manufacturingAim to improve resource efficiency by using concepts such as industrial symbiosis to reduce consumption of virgin resources.
4. Target Process Cost-effectiveness.Aim for maximum cost efficiency for a given process by using waste as a feedstock for the production of marketable high-value bio-chemicals, bio-fuels and bio-materials from waste.
5. Favour Clean and Green TechnologiesAim to produce goods without hazardous inputs or impacts on our environment.
