participate in the Chrism Mass celebrated by
Bishop Monforton at St Peter Church at 7pm,
Monday of Holy Week, (4/15).
Pray for the grace to enter into this holiest of weeks with an open heart, mind, and soul so that what is indifferent and unfeeling within you may be moved by the mystery of Christ’s passion and resurrection, so that you may live out the grace of Easter in a world that is in need of the light of the risen Lord.

Fasting and Abstinence
The laws of the Catholic Church on fasting and
abstinence are as follows:
Abstinence: All Catholics 14 years and older
are obliged to abstain from eating flesh meat on
Ash Wednesday and the Fridays of Lent.
Fasting: Catholics aged 18 to 59 inclusive are
obliged to fast on Ash Wednesday and Good Fri-
day. On these days of fasting, one full meal is
permitted as well as two smaller meals that, if
combined, would be less than a full meal.
Franciscan University to Present
“The Comedy of Errors”
The Franciscan University Theatre Department
is bringing belly laughs and mass confusion to
the stage this spring with William Shakespeare’s
The Comedy of Errors.
The final performance will be held Sunday,
April 14 at 2pm in the Anathan Theatre, on the
ground level of Egan Hall.
Tickets are $4 for adults and $2 for students and
seniors. Admission is free for clergy, religious
and children under 12. Tickets may be bought at
the door on a first come, first served basis.
May Book Club
The next meeting of the Parish Book Club will be at
10:00 am on Saturday, May 18 in the church hall.
We will discuss The Face of God: The Rediscovery of
the True Face of Jesus On the Holy Face of Manopello

G. K. Chesterton Talk
Dale Ahlquist, a renowned G K Chesterton scholar, will
present a talk titled “The Advantages of Seeing the
World Upside Down: Chesterton and St Francis”
on Monday, April 15, at Franciscan University.
Ahlquist is the president of the American Chesterton
Society and chairman of the Chesterton Schools net-
work, which includes more than fifteen high schools in
the U.S., Canada and Italy.
The talk is hosted by the Franciscan University Ches-
terton Society. Attendance is free and all are invited to
attend. It will begin at 6:30pm in the Tony and Nina
Gentile Gallery, J C Williams Center
