April showers bring May Flowers! It is hard to believe that April is upon us and there is only two more months of school left. We continue to ref ine our goals, reach new heights, and we stil l have so much to celebrate!! In March our McKinley students celebrated their successes exercising the four compass points of our McKinley Motto (Honesty, Dedication, Citizenship, and Responsibil ity) while embracing the IB learner attributes through their words and actions at our Fabulous Friday event where students could ?buy into? an Imagination and Creation Extravaganza!! Students imaginations were soaring as they created unique arts and crafts!! A BIG THANK YOU to our McKinley parents who donated to the event. It was a huge success and the students loved it!! We appreciated all the generous donations and it allowed our event to become a big hit! McKinley McBucks were abounding as students collected green McBucks to enter into a ?Springtime Spectacular? Raff le.
Throughout the month of April and the end of the year our four PBS compass points and all IB Learner Attributes will be revisited and reinforced. Off ice referrals continue to be signif icantly decreased during March as students are internalizing ref lective decision making, responsibil ity, and ownership of choices. Our April PBS event will be an Ice Cream Social event which students will be able to ?buy into? using their McBucks!
Thank you for all you do each day in helping our students soar to their fullest potential and being partners with us in our PBS and IB journey to continued success and excellence! Our McKinley pride is always high!!

Hola familias,
¡Es abril! During the month of April, our Spanish classes will be learning about the family. Students will learn the names of family members and be able to identify members of their own families. We will also study family relationships of Spanish speakers around the world. This month, I would like to invite you to share any information about Spanish-speaking families from your own experiences. Our goal is for students to hear about family l ife of Spanish speakers here in the U.S., as well as in other countries. If you have anything to share, please send in a note with your child or email me at [email protected]. Thank you again for your support at home. Please keep asking your student to share about what we are learning.
Gracias, Sra. Kozenko
